7. Network Security Solutions

You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone. - Johnny Carson
This chapter proposes solutions to network security problems. The chapter is divided into two sections, a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical section presents the solutions in a theoretical manner. In the theoretical section, we introduce firewalls. Firewalls promise to be a mechanism through which most, if not all, network security can be solved. The practical section deals with the practical considerations of such solutions with examples of how they could be implemented.
